Itinerary
- Day 01: Kathgodam to Kausani (140 km)
Cab will pick you up from Kathgodam railway station and transfer to Kausani. Visit Kainchi Dham and Almora enroute. Upon arrival in Kausani, check into your hotel and rest for a while. In the afternoon, visit Anasakti Ashram, where Mahatma Gandhi stayed for some time and wrote his commentary on the Gita-Anasakti Yoga. Enjoy stunning Himalayan sunset. - Day 02: Kausani to Munsyari (170 km)
Wake up early morning to witness the stunning sunrise view of the Himalayas. After breakfast, check out the hotel and start for Munsyari. Visit Baijnath Temple (Ancient Shiva temple) and Bageshwar enroute. On the way, stop at Birthi Falls, located 30 km before Munsyari. Take a short trek to the falls. After visiting the falls, continue your journey towards Munsyari. Check into your hotel in Munsyari and relax for a while. Spend the rest of the day exploring the local market and enjoying the beautiful views of the Himalayas. - Day 03: Munsyari Sightseeing
After breakfast, set out to explore the scenic beauty of Munsyari. Visit Nanda Devi temple. It is accessible by road and has stunning view of Himalayan peaks specially Panchachuli. If you want to trek, you may go to Khaliya Top, located about 7 km away from Munsyari, which offers stunning views of the Himalayas and is a great spot for trekking and skiing. (Please keep in mind that it is a steep uphill trek). If you don’t go to Khaliya Top, then you can opt for Maheshwari Kund, a beautiful lake located near Munsyari. It is 2 km one side easy trek. In the evening, return to your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing. - Day 04: Munsyari to Chaukori (100 km)
Wake up early morning to witness the stunning sunrise view of the Himalayas. After breakfast, check out the hotel and start Chaukori via Thal. Check into your hotel in Chaukori and relax for a while. Visit the tea gardens in Chaukori. If weather permits, witness the stunning sunset reflecting on the mighty Himalayas. Spend the evening stargazing or sitting around a bonfire. Have dinner at your hotel and retire for the night. - Day 05: Chaukori to Kathgodam Drop (190 km)
Wake up early morning to witness the stunning sunrise view of the Himalayas. After breakfast, check out the hotel and start from Chaukori to Kathgodam. Visit Jageshwar Dham temple, Golu Devta Temple, Almora and Kainchi Dham en route. Cab will drop you at Kathgodam railway station.
